4 Week Meditation Series

Saturdays: 1/20/24, 1/27/24, 2/10/24, 2/17/24
This workshop series is focused on the foundations of meditation and mindfulness as a mental health and wellness practice. Participants will learn the basics of meditation and its impact on mental health, how meditation can empower participants in their minds and their lives, and how mindfulness practices can be helpful in daily life and life transitions. By the series' conclusion, attendees can anticipate not only a heightened understanding of meditation but also the confidence and empowerment to embrace it as a regular and sustainable practice, fostering a journey towards greater mental clarity and wellness.
Introduction to Meditation and Mental Health
In this opening class, attendees will gain information about the history of meditation and its potential impact on mental health and wellness. Kyle will also outline specific meditation and mindfulness techniques and provide information about their benefits. She will lead the group through several short meditations to begin this practice.
Empowerment Through Meditation: Shifting negative thought patterns
In this class, attendees will gain insight about using meditation as a powerful tool to change their relationship with negative thoughts. Kyle will walk attendees through tools that can be used to shift problematic thinking patterns and feel more empowered in their own minds.
Empowerment Part 2: Emotional regulation and stress management
This class will focus on the supportive effects meditation and mindfulness can have on managing stress and intense emotions. Attendees will learn more about the balancing power of mindfulness and feeling more in tune and at ease with how emotions show up.
Integrating Meditation as a Regular Practice
In this final session, attendees will explore simple ways to develop a meaningful regular meditation practice. Kyle will guide participants through a few alternative types of meditation and outline how mindfulness can be grounding as a regular practice, especially during life transitions.
Additional Information and Registration
Handouts will be provided throughout this series of classes in order to help participants integrate the practice of mediation into their daily lives with ease.

Kyle Rundles is a licensed clinical psychologist, outreach specialist, and long-time meditator. She specializes in adult mental health and couples therapy, particularly during life adjustments. Her therapeutic approach explores how ideas of self and the world have formed and she works with clients towards reframing these ideas to create personal meaning. Kyle believes strongly that society and community has a profound impact on mental health and individual concerns do not exist in a vacuum. She is drawn to narrative therapy and personal storytelling, as well as how meditation can be helpful to overall mental health and wellness. In particular, Kyle is passionate about how the ancient and communal practice of meditation can be centering and healing through life’s difficulties and transitions, as well as how meditation techniques can be used to manage stress and shift thinking patterns.
